Review: TUT

Our last fitness adventure was SUP and now we are trying another acronym TUT, getting into the lingo and all that 💁.  So we found out that TUT stands for Time Under Tension and to me this sounded hard, which might be while we chose it, after the relative jolly that SUP (& Prosecco 🥂) was. The concept revolves around how long the muscle is under strain during a set focusing on improving strength.  The class promised minimal cardio and a smart mix of moves alternating between upper and lower body, all designed to give you a strong lean physique. Sounds great right?!  Read on to find out how we coped…

Review: SUP

When I broke my toe it was quite a panic not being able to run, but it also put the majority of the fitness adventures off the table.  Kick boxing, for example, just wasn’t going to work. But then I came across the idea of Stand Up Paddle boarding, SUP to those in the know.  I figured I might be able to manage that, and the class I found included prosecco, which if anything would numb the pain.  Did we fall in Regent’s canal?  What are the heath benefits?  How was the prosecco?  All these important questions answered and more.

Review: Barre

With our intro offer at Psycle, we had a few more classes to use up after our awesome experience at Ride 45 (which you can read about here).  I’ve always wanted to try Barre, and I was super excited that they had it at Psycle, so we had to do it.  I was afraid it was going to fail, as I thought it was for uber flexible ballet types, and that is 100% not me.  How wrong was I. Review: Swimsanity

And next on the fitness adventures, we tried SwimSanity – it’s a High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) workout, in the water.  And in the water, it’s will be easy on our joints.  They say Aqua classes hare the most joint friendly exercise there is, due to the weightlessness in the water.  But this is more than an aqua class, in fact the SwimSanity website warns … Continue reading Review: Swimsanity

Review: Blaze

April flew by in a flash, and with the Brighton Marathon marathon, and recovery afterwards, I had to leave my friend Hollie to tackle a new fitness challenge on her own. So, being a member of David Lloyd, Hollie decided to try the new Blaze fitness class.  Here’s what they say about Blaze: a HIIT class that will test your strength, stamina, and willpower as … Continue reading Review: Blaze

Review: Static Trapeze

As my Friend Hollie and I explore the London fitness class scene, we are becoming more adventurous.  We started off with Barry’s Bootcamp, then we moved on to Rebounding at Frame, and next we decided on something totally different, Static Trapeze 🤸.  Most people who I told thought it sounded like a cool idea, but that we were totally bonkers🤪.  We may be bonkers, but … Continue reading Review: Static Trapeze

Review: Rebounding

Next on our London fitness adventure, Holly and I wanted to try something fun.  Barry’s Bootcamp (see review here) was very serious (trendy, yes) but serious.  We wanted to have some fun 🤸.  We came across rebounding at Frame, and thought, what can be more fun than bouncing on a trampoline to music.  They say: 20 minutes of rebounding is the equivalent of an HOUR … Continue reading Review: Rebounding

Review: Barry’s Bootcamp

I’ve been running outside for almost 2 years now, and I don’t have a gym membership, so I’m pretty open to trying new things, and having no financial commitment to one specific gym allows me to do just that.  At the start of 2019, I knew I wanted to dip my toe into the London fitness scene and try some of these ‘new & trendy’ … Continue reading Review: Barry’s Bootcamp
